Japanese Miyazaki Wagyu 12oz Strip Steak Kobe Beef Style (1 Per Pack)

As low as: $150.00

Of the four unique Wagyu breeds raised in Japan, Miyazaki Wagyu is Japanese Black Wagyu, known as Kuroge Washu in Japan. This breed accounts for 90% of Wagyu raised in Japan. For it to qualify as Miyazaki Wagyu Beef, the beef must grade A-4 or A-5. At Debragga we use only A5 grade with a marble score 10 or higher! Less than 3 % of all Wagyu produced in Japan receives this Quality grade (grade is determined by several factors, including marbling ( 1-12), fat color ( 1-7), muscle color ( 1-7), firmness/tenderness of meat, and muscle dimension. If any of these criteria score less than perfect, it cannot be A-5).

What makes Miyazaki’s reputation for the finest Wagyu is a Culinary “Olympics” held every 5 years in Japan. The beef is judged over 9 criteria. To win this competition once is a lifetime dream. Miyazaki Wagyu has won the last TWO competitions, demonstrating that they maintain standards over the long term. This achievement clearly indicates that the Japanese consider Miyazaki Wagyu to be superior to all other Japanese Wagyu, including the beef from Kobe.

The team at DeBragga is proud to have the exclusive distributorship of Miyazaki Wagyu, 100% pureblood wagyu. Located on the southern Island of KYUSHU, the Prefecture of Miyazaki is the finest growing region in Japan, with a year round temperate climate conducive for producing excellent Wagyu. The cattle are raised on pasture until 16- 18 months, and then fed an increasingly rich diet of grains, primarily barley-based, for more than 450 days. They are antibiotic- and hormone-free, and they are given no animal by-products in the feed. The animal husbandry is the finest is the world (though not massaged by young maidens today, they still consume the occasional beer!).

The best steak in the world- by far!
By CJ on May 19, 2019
If you have never had A5 Kobe beef there is no way to describe how it tastes because there is nothing else even close to the rich flavor and texture. It does have a lot of fat in it but that is what makes it A5 Kobe and that is where the flavor comes from. When the fat is cooked it just melts in your mouth with a buttery flavor so although your first instinct is to trim off the fat before cooking just leave it, you will be amazed at how good it is. I am not a wealthy person so I can not afford to eat it very often but it is so good my wife and I have given up eating out so that we can afford to order the Kobe steak 4-5 times a year. I happily eat pb&j sandwiches instead of eating out just to be able to order this steak. Sacrifice and save your pennies, you will not be disappointed.
Best beef I've ever had.... so far.

Excellent once, twice, three times in a lifetime experience! We cut this in thin slices and cooked it Yakiniku-style which helped portion it out as a decadent appetizer. We cooked it on an electric grill (Zojirushi EB-DLC10) which cooked it perfectly 30-50 seconds per side with nice charring. Next time I'll do it in 1 inch squares, or maybe order the thicker cut as this is a very thin cut.
Was it worth the money?
By Foodiein757 on June 22, 2018
"Was it worth the money?" is what I'm asked after having this steak. That's a personal question that each person can ask themselves. For me, yes it was! I don't live an extravagant life so I chose to indulge ona dinner with my best friend.
Here are a few things I learned:
1. Direction of website state using cast iron with very high heat. I suggest not extremely high - maybe medium high at the most especially when using cast iron. This will help keep the smoke to a minimum.
2. If you take care of your cast iron like I do, you always coat the skillet with oil after each use to keep it seasoned. If you are going to cook a steak like this, use a high smoke oil (grapeseed, avocado, peanut) to season the skillet after your last use but before cooking the steak. This will also help keep smoke down.
3. It literally takes 30-40 seconds to cook. Due to all the fat it cooks down quite a bit.
The texture takes a bite or two in order to get used to. It is so buttery that the brain has to re-wire in order to enjoy. The flavors are amazing!
I will absolutely do this again. We've determined at least twice a year we will cook this steak and enjoy something world class.
Worth Every Penny

It was so delicious! It tasted just like the steak we had in Kyoto, Japan. Well worth every penny! My husband wants us to order this steak every year for our anniversary, looks like you guys will have clients for life!
Tremendous --

I have been to Alexanders(few times), Cupertino, Ca. one of 9 places in the US that sell A-5 Kobe. I paid $185 for 3 oz piece and it was excellent but costly. Add drinks, salad, appetizers, sides, corkage ($50/bottle) and you are looking at $850 for 2 people. Debragga is a steal at $125 for 12 ounce Ribeye and as easy to cook as pouring water. Just follow the directions and don't second guess. Cast Iron Pan.....I wish they could figure out a way to reduce cost mailing cost to California.
WOW - this was an EVENT!

I bought two of these for a special dinner for my wife, one was for a test run. I bought a single gas burner stove so I could cook this tableside. I cut the steak in 1.5" strips and cooked them 1 at a time. It cooked quick, I tried to keep the temp between 350 and 400 with my IR thermometer and just used tongs and sea salt in a stainless steel pan. It was unlike ANYTHING I have ever tasted in my 50 years. I served it with cracked stone crab claws, serious eats hasselback potatoes and grill asparagus. AMAZING. It IS expensive but I thought this is a one time evet - who am I kidding, I am on here today ordering more for Valentines day.

The best steak I ever had!! Enough for 2 people, so rich and full of flavor!! Less than 1 minute on each side, high heat and perfection.

Absolutely fantastic. We tried both the strip and the ribeye - easily the highest quality and best tasting wagyu i've had outside tokyo. as others have posted, the meat just melts in your mouth!
Must try!

Outrageously expensive, but also outrageously delicious! Wanted to try at least once. Seared 1 minute per side in hot cast iron skillet and served as an appetizer with tosa joyu (soy dipping sauce) and wasabi. Outstanding. Will order again for special occasion.
Absolutely Amazing
By Joe on February 28, 2017
Ordered for a special dinner with my wife. One steak was enough for both of us since it is so rich. Marbling score was higher than 10 for sure. Great packaging, arrived exactly when I requested it, and a steak experience like we've never experienced before. Worth every penny.

From the guests - 2 words - "pure luxury!"
Great for special occasions.
By PDX John on January 06, 2017
The quality is outstanding. Served as an appetizer, and one 12 oz package really could have covered 20 people (as finger food). Packed and delivered as expected, held in the fridge for a week after delivery (not frozen). Would buy again when it is a super special occasion.
Best beef we ever ate!
By Lori on January 06, 2017
This was amazing... Melts in your mouth.... Will definitely order again!
Amazing beef. Be ready to trim 15% of what you buy by mass
By Jake on August 11, 2016
Meat quality was top notch! Ordered 5 of these for a party, and it all got eaten. The only drawback was a pretty healthy amount of trim. I would say 10oz of the 60oz total was a bit sinewy to serve bite style as hors douvres. Aside from the 16.7% loss in trim, the meat was flawless! Lots of happy campers after serving up the Miyazaki strip!
