Zesty BBQ Topper
This BBQ sauce is next level Yum and perfect with some Cowboy Candy and Tahini Slaw. The Cowboy Candy recipe is below; find the Tahini Slaw in Recipes under Sides!- Prep Time 10 minutes or less

Ingredients
For the BBQ Sauce:
- 1 c Ketchup
- 1/3 c Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 T Water
- 3 T Soy Sauce
- 1.5 T Yellow Mustard
- 1.5 T Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
For the Cowboy Candy:
- 8 Med to Large Jalapenos, trimmed and thinly sliced on the bias
- 1 cup white sugar
- ½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2-3 tsp yellow mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt
Directions
For the BBQ Sauce:
- Put everything into a sauce pan and bring it to a slow boil, stirring often, until it reduces and thickens a bit.
For the Cowboy Candy:
- Into a saucepan that can accommodate the sliced jalapenos, put sugar, vinegar mustard seeds and kosher salt and bring to a boil, let sugar dissolve and stir constantly for 5 minutes on med low.
- Add the jalapenos and bring to a boil, turning frequently until they shrivel a bot, about 6 minutes.
Put the jalapenos into a glass dish and continue boiling the liquid about 10 minutes until it’s reduced. - Pour over the jalapenos and serve.
- You can also transfer to a covered jar and put into the fridge.
