Easy Salsa Verde

Easy Salsa Verde

Use this on simply everything; it’s rich in flavor with a nice little kick.

  • Cook Time 5 minutes
 

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp good quality olive oil
  • 5 jalapenos, sliced in half lengthwise and seeded (we like the seeds)
  • 1 small serrano chile, sliced in half and seeded
  • ½ cup Spanish onion chopped finely
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 cup cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • ¾ cup water

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil on medium and add the peppers, onion and garlic.  Let soften and brown a bit – saute for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the salt and cilantro and let the cilantro wilt.
  3. Transfer to a blender, add lemon juice and water.
  4. Puree. 
Store in fridge for a week.
