DeBragga’s naturally raised, antibiotic-free turkey is a delicious and healthy choice for your family at the holidays. Our private label turkeys are naturally raised birds grown on small family farms, with full access to the outdoors where they get plenty of exercise, unlike factory-farmed birds. They are not given drugs that make them grow too quickly; DeBragga turkeys develop at a slower pace, growing the old-fashioned way, with respect to the animal, and results in a tastier bird. The turkeys are fed a vegetarian diet of grains (corn and soy) and pure spring water, with no protein supplements, animal by-products, pesticides or herbicides. Additionally, no antibiotics or arsenicals are ever administered and the birds benefit from an environment that never uses artificial light. The result is a delightfully rich tasting, yet tender, moist turkey with excellent flavor and less fat than factory-farmed turkeys. You should also know that our government does not allow any poultry to be given hormones, so anyone advertising “no hormones” is just pulling your leg. Our fresh, heritage turkeys are 10-14 pounds. Cooking your DeBragga turkeyKeep in mind that depending on several factors, including: size of bird, oven calibration, type of cookware used, recipe variations, and method of cooking, time and temperature will vary. We recommend use of a meat thermometer, instant-read or digital, when gauging doneness.
